Mobile Application

The Velox for Smartphones app is an extension to your desk phone and operates
in an identical fashion as follows.

Inbound Call

When someone calls your extension, it will ring on your desk phone and smartphone simultaneously, no matter where you are in the world – as long as your smartphone is data enabled with either cellular or WiFi. The incoming call is at no charge, even if you are roaming, since the incoming call is a “data call”.

The person calling you will not be aware that you are not at your desk. Please note that the functionality that you have set up on the dashboard that applies to your extension also applies to the app, e.g. if you are recording inbound calls on your extension then inbound calls to your app will also be recorded.

Outbound Call

You can make outbound calls from the Velox App as though you were making calls from your office extension and at the same call cost rate – as long as your smartphone is data enabled with either cellular or WiFi. For example, if you use the app to make a domestic call to a Singapore land line or mobile, then it will either be a free call if you are within your free call allocations or at a cost of $0.016 per minute ( please note that typically, calls from Singapore mobile phones are charged at about $0.17 per minute!). This also applies if you are calling from anywhere in the world to Singapore.

In addition, if you use the app to make international calls, it would be at the same rates as though you are in the office – significantly less than Singtel/Starhub outbound roaming call charges. The person you are calling will not be aware that you are not at your desk and the CLI ( Caller Line Identification) that will appear on the recipients phone will be your office DID. Please note that the functionality that you have set up on the dashboard that applies to your extension also applies to the app, so for example, if you are recording outbound calls on your extension, then outbound calls from your app will also be recorded.

A typical Velox call consumes 100 kbps which is a very small amount of data so that it will have virtually no impact on your roaming data plan. Why spend hundreds or thousands of dollars for your roaming incoming and outgoing calls when you can save 99% using the Velox for Smartphone App.
